Reading Skill Set, Box 1, K to 1st grade

My daughter actually asks to do her "reading games" after dinner, which never happened with flashcards. The letter tiles and little word-building cards are sturdy enough that my 5-year-old can handle them without me hovering.

We've been using this box for a few weeks with my kindergartner and the letter tiles are her favorite part, she builds little words on the floor without me even asking. The lessons are short enough that she doesn't lose focus, maybe ten minutes at a time.

My 5-year-old actually asks to do the letter games in this box, which says a lot since she usually fights me on anything that feels like schoolwork. The phonics cards are sturdy enough to survive her little brother, and the parent guide gives me simple ways to keep each session short.
