The hands-on activities in this box are perfect for my son, who's in kindergarten and gets bored with plain worksheets. He especially loves the letter tiles and the little games that go with them, and I've noticed him blending sounds much more confidently after just a few weeks.
My daughter went from sounding out letters to reading whole short sentences in about three weeks, and she actually asks to do the activities. The word-building tiles are her favorite part, she lines them up on the floor and makes up silly words before getting to the real ones.
The hands-on pieces are sturdy and my son actually asks to play the sound-matching game. But for a kindergartner who already knows his letter sounds, a lot of Box 2 felt like review, and we burned through it in about two weeks. Fine for the price, just wish there was more new material.
