The park scene where Alora meets Pearl opened up a whole conversation with my son about how to say "can I play too" instead of just grabbing toys. He's four and actually repeats the line when we're at the playground now.

My daughter asks for the Alora story every single night now, and I love that it’s actually teaching her how to name her feelings out loud. The pages have held up through dozens of reads and some enthusiastic page-turning, which is more than I can say for other board books we own.

The pages are sturdy enough for my 2-year-old to turn herself, and the story about Alora finding her voice has already sparked real conversations about feelings. We've read it four times today and she keeps pointing to Pearl on the last page.
