The tiles are smooth and the bars are solid enough to survive my twins' daily play, and they've started lining them up to see which number is bigger without any prompting. It's nice having something physical to point at when explaining addition, it just clicks better than a worksheet.
My six-year-old finally gets why 7 is bigger than 5—she can see it in the bars' lengths. The number tiles fit perfectly beside each bar, making counting feel like a game instead of a chore.
My four-year-old grasped “greater than” and “less than” in minutes by physically lining up the wooden bars. The tiles are a nice touch for matching the written number to the quantity.
