Reading Skill Set, Box 5, K to 1st grade

My kindergartner actually asks to do the reading activities, which I did not expect. The box is aimed right at the K to 1st grade stretch, and the research-backed phonics games have him sounding out simple words on his own now.

My daughter is in kindergarten and the phonics activities in box 5 are finally clicking for her — she read a whole page of the little reader out loud to me without help. The cards are sturdy enough that they've survived being stuffed in her backpack a few times.

The word-building cards have been a hit with my son, who's finally sounding out short words on his own. I do wish the box included a few more writing pages, since he tears through those faster than the reading activities.
