My 5-year-old asks for Measurement Day almost every night now, which I did not expect from a book about a measuring tape. The hardcover has held up fine through a few dozen readings, and the arguing-over-the-tape story actually got him talking about sharing with his little sister.

The compromise lesson in Measurement Day actually landed with my 6-year-old, which I wasn't expecting from a picture book. We've read it four nights straight now and she's started saying "let's meet in the middle" when her brother grabs her toys. Hardcover's holding up fine to a toddler too.

My kids were fighting over a tape measure last week and I grabbed this book to redirect them—now they actually ask to read it when tension spikes. The hardcover has held up to nightly readings and the sibling dynamic inside feels refreshingly real.
